When you come to Camano Island, you really "get away from it all".  If you are coming from the Seattle area, it won't take you long to get here, but you'll feel like you've gone far away.  If you are coming from somewhere further than Seattle, it's well worth it - you can enjoy all the island has to offer as well as use our home as a "home base" for wonderful Pacific Northwest day trips.

 

There is no ferry required to get to Camano Island, the island is accessed by a bridge.  It's easily accessed, a great place for day trips around the Pacific Northwest, yet also remote.

 

Camano Island is in the rain shadow and gets only half the rain of Seattle.  Camano Island has it all - miles of uncrowded unspoiled shoreline, wildlife, nature trails, and more.

 

Port Susan Bay, where our home is located, has been named as an Important Bird Area by the Pilchuck Audubon Society.  The Pilchuck Audubon Society is involved in protecting the habitat around Port Susan Bay for the beautiful bird wildlife.  The area is a birder's paradise.

 

    Camano Island State Park -- 6,700 feet of rocky/ sandy shoreline, shellfish harvesting, and amazing scenery

    Cama Beach State Park -- A former fishing resort, which now offers beautiful scenery and more to the public  

    Iverson Spit Waterfront Preserve -- waterfront preserve, birding, nature trail with over 330 acres.  Included in the Washington Audubon "Best Places to Bird Watch" in Washington state.

 

Camano Island also is home to over 35 art galleries, a couple of public boat launches, grocery stores and other amenities.  It's truly a lovely island experience -- one that's not overly commercialized.
